This book is a great size and of the three Israel travel books I ordered, this is the one that will travel with me. It is small and thin, making it easy to pack. Plus it has a protective, plastic cover which holds the detailed map in the back flap. I especially liked receiving a map and book for this price. Using the map, I was able to pinpoint the hotel I'll be staying in and see what points-of-interest are nearby. There are also maps on the inside flaps of the book and throughout. There are interesting side-bars on many pages. The book is well laid out and easy to read. It doesn't go into detail about fabulous hole-in-the-wall, hidden places to eat, but for a great, little travel book about Israel and it's highlights and best places to stay, eat, shop, tours, etc. it is super.Product details

Useful guide, even more useful map. A must carry if your plan to use a GPS. Use the map as a cross reference to check on the GPS directions.
Actually purchased this book after returning home from Israel. Lots of information on the sites I saw as well as places I didn't get to see. I was pleased to get a map also.
This Travel Guide gives brief informative info and includes a map. Good for someone going on a Tour Guide to Israel; "bonus nugget of info" the Tour Guide may not have mentioned. Make sure to visit Jerusalem last...it's worth the time & visit!

This is an excellent, concise, well written travel guide. The excellent full size map alone (country and main cities on the back) justifies the price. Unlike many travel books I have used over the years (Frommers, Froders), this one was short, to the point, contained all the necessary highlights and descriptions, and was a pleasure to read cover to cover. It is small and easy to bring along on your trip. Highly recommended. I just purchased another Globetrotter Travel Guide for my next trip to Peru and will continue to purchase them for my trips. A great travel guide and a great value.
